Isfahan (IMNA) - At the beginning ceremony of the restoration project of the historical bazaar of Shahreza, the head of Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization of Isfahan province, Fereydoun Allahayari said, "Restoration actions in this historical bazaar, including solidification of columns and arches and restoration of aged arches, will cost more than five billion Rials."
"The historical county of Shahreza, which dates back to pre-Islamic times, is located on the north-south highway; so, this county has enjoyed a great deal of development in the cultural and civilization areas", he added.
Allahyari referred to the situation of Shahreza’s historical bazaar and said, "This bazaar has enjoyed great prosperity during different times; in the fifth and sixth AH centuries (during the Seljuk era) and then in the eleventh AH century, simultaneous with the Safavid era, it has benefited a great boom in that the merchants of Araq-ajam region, especially the merchants of the Safavid capital (Isfahan), traveled to this market and did business.
