Isfahan (IMNA) - Referring to the re-installation of Kaveh Ahangar statue at the center of Azadi Square, Hashmatullah Entekhabi said: "since this statue has returned to the city with the help of History Lovers Society of Isfahan and other cultural activists, such an action will undoubtedly have a very positive Impact.
Entekhabi added: “Kaveh is one of the myths of Isfahan's history and the Kavian belongs to Isfahan and Iran; perhaps it is possible to say "Gabe", which is known as an old name of Isfahan, is named after Kaveh Blacksmith. "If we are to choose one of the urban symbols, Kaveh's symbol is the best one, and Iraj Mohammadi, as someone who has performed such a cultural act, has a good knowledge of Isfahan mythology, and the return of this sculpture is a very positive action.
He continued: "Once upon a time, Shah Abbas statue was installed at the Shiraz gate which is called Azadi square today. Azadi square was actually the center of the Shah Abbas palace and a garden of a thousand acres (Hezar Jarib). One of the Shah Abbas's actions was connecting of Darvazeh Dolat to the Chahar Bagh Avenue.
Then as an effective action, the statue of Shah Abbas was installed several years later in Azadi Square, which was unfortunately removed and broken later. However, after that, the statue of Kaveh Ahangar was installed in place of the statue of Shah Abbas in Azadi Square. After a while, the statute was removed due to some reasons. Anyway, we are glad that the statue of Kaveh has returned to the city as one of the symbols of Isfahan.
