The Islamic Republic of Iran’s ambassador to Greece, Majid Motallebi Shabestari, at a meeting with the Greek Minister of Tourism Elena Kountoura, discussed venues for development of cooperation between the two countries in relation to the tourism industry.
The Iranian envoy, while referring to long history of civilization and historical attraction of the two countries on the one hand and willingness of Iranian and Greek nations to become more familiar with rich cultures and countless attractions of each other on the other, emphasized the need to deepen cooperation and create more facilities for exchange of tourists and participation of relevant sectors for development of tourism industry.
The minister of tourism of Greece also welcomed expansion of relations and cooperation in the tourism sector.
Elena Kountoura pointed to age-old history of Iran and while welcoming development of relations in the field of tourism, said “beautiful sites of Iran in the tourism sector and its possession of ancient and important historical monuments attract a large number of enthusiasts.”
The Greek official later referred to Iran’s climate diversity, its ancient history and many tourist attractions and emphasized strengthening of cooperation. She also voiced readiness of the Greek government to participate in development of Iran’s capabilities in the field of tourism.
