Iranian, Afghan traders discuss ties

Economic practitioners of Iran and Afghanistan held a meeting in Islam Qala Customs Department, northwestern Afghanistan to review ways of increasing bilateral trade.

In addition to 20 Iranian economic practitioners, the meeting on Saturday was attended by local officials from Taybad, Razavi Khorasan, northeastern Iran, and from the neighboring Islam Qala, Herat Province.

“One-third of afghanistan' needs are provided through Dugharoon border point, Taybad,” said Governor of Taybad Hossein Sherafati-Rad.

Director General of Herat Province of Afghanistan said that serious steps have been taken in Iran-Afghanistan economic ties in the past few years, and the afghan government has learned a lot from the Iranian side.

Ahmad Sho’ayb Masoumi added that the common culture of Iran and Afghanistan is a big capital for expansion of economic ties and any innovations are supported in the field.
