Iranian weightlifter pockets silver in US World Champs

Iranian weightlifter Kianoush Rostami in the weight category of 85 kilogram received a silver medal at World Championships at Anaheim, California, US.

Despite being injured on his knee, Rostami started his match with 170 kg weight in the snatch field, but in the clean and jerk he could not lift 174 kg weight.

In the third stage, he lifted 174 kg weight and grabbed a silver medal.

Several weightlifters from Iran, Bulgaria, South Korea, Qatar, Egypt, Germany, US, Uzbekistan and Lithuania are competing in the championship in California from November 28 to December 5, 2017.

On September 23, Moradi also won gold medal of 94 kilogram class in weightlifting competitions at the 2017 Asian Indoor Games by setting a new record in the world.
