China ready to help quake-stricken people in Iran, Iraq

China Commercial Ministry in a statement issued on Tuesday extended condolences on demise of the quake-stricken people in Iran and Iraq while voicing readiness to render assistance.

It said in the statement that China has launched a rapid reaction system to deliver humanitarian aids to Iran and Iraq.

The Ministry expressed sympathy with victims' families and the injured persons.

Already China President Xi Jinping had offered condolences to his counterpart Hassan Rouhani and China Foreign Ministry also sent a condolence message to Iran foreign ministry and expressed their sympathy with Iranian nation and government.

China official News Agency stressed that Iran is located in an area active by earthquake and is on the several dangerous fault lines and mentioned two deadly quakes in Iran; one in 1990 in Roudbar which left 37,000 dead and the other one in Bam in 2003 which killed 26,000.

A strong quake measuring 7.3 on the Richter scale jolted Iran's western provinces of Kermanshah, Ilam and Kordestan on Sunday evening at 21:48 local time.

The latest death toll is 432 while 7,817 others have been injured in Iran.
