Tehran Int'l Short Film Festival screening 110 Film from 43 countries

The 34th edition of Tehran International Short Film Festival (TISFF) hosted directors from 43 countries to screen 110 films from October 17 – 22, 2017, at Mellat Cinema Complex in the Iranian capital Tehran, according to a report by IRNA.

Sadegh Mousavi is appointed as the director of the TISFF, reported the festival's official website. 

The TISFF is scheduled to screen 110 short films in three main categories of experimental, documentary and fiction films. 

Directors from 43 countries, namely France, Russia, Macedonia, Switzerland, New Zealand, the Netherlands, Hungary, Greece, Romania, Georgia, Belgium, Poland, Canada, Spain, Australia, Bulgaria, Nepal, South Korea, Singapore, Brazil, China, Germany, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, United States of America, the Philippines, Italy, Estonia, Czech Republic, Taiwan, Vietnam, Ireland, Belarus, Slovenia, Portugal, Finland, Slovakia, Argentina, Iraq, Cambodia, Bangladesh, Peru and India attended the international even.

Jury members from Lebanon, Poland, Hong Kong, Slovenia and Iran assess the films at the international category in three sections of Asia, religion and video art.

The TISFF pays tribute to late Iranian filmmaker “Vahid Nasirian” and veteran Iranian filmmakers including Naser Gholamrezaei, Ebrahim Saeidi and Dariush Gharibzadeh. 


Specialized cinema workshops as well as “Book and Cinema” section, “Citizen Rights” and “Faith and Hope” from contemporary human’s perspective are parts of the TISFF events. 

The Tehran International Short Film Festival, October 17 to 22, is a prestigious and highly credited short film festival and enjoys a fine ranking among other short film festivals. Hundreds of filmmaker submit their art works to the TISFF secretariat hoping to attend the event to compete with filmmakers from across the globe.
