Iran, Turkey news agencies to broaden media cooperation

Iran's Ambassador to Turkey Mohammad Ebrahim Taherian-Fard conferred with Managing Director of Anadolu News Agency Shonal Ganguly on ways to broaden media cooperation between the two countries, IRNA reported.

During the meeting, both sides examined expansion of mutual, regional and international cooperation underlining that presently the two sides relations has entered a new phase following the recent visit of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to Iran. 

Relations between the two countries is balanced and developing, and the two sides' cooperation on Syrian peace trend under Astana negotiations as well as their close stances on recent polling in Iraqi Kurdistan region indicates that negotiations and exchange of views between Tehran and Ankara is at the highest level, Taherian-Fard said.

The Islamic Republic of Iran attaches importance to expansion of relations with Turkey and Tehran also to broaden cooperation on regional developments, he said. 

President of Anadolu News agency, for his part, said close media cooperation can help expand relations and cooperation between the two countries. 

Turkish people have a positive attitude towards Iranian people and a large number of tourists visit both countries' tourism and cultural sites each year, he said.
