Iran, Armenia discuss developing cultural relations

Iran envoy to Russia Kazem Sajjadi and Armenian Culture Minister Armen Amiryan, have reviewed ways to promote cultural ties in the Armenian capital, Yerevan, IRNA reported.

During the meeting in the Armenian ministry of culture, Sajjadi urged cultural officials of both countries to seek to further cultural ties to prepare the ground for bilateral relations in other fields as well.

'Cultural engagements can serve as the foundation and a starting point for bilateral developments in other spheres,' Sajjadi said.

Meanwhile, the Armenian Culture Minister also stressed on developing cultural ties between Iran and Armenia.

Amiryan said that the two countries by carrying out joint movie production projects show the commonalities between Iran and Armenia.

Earlier, Iran's Farabi Cinema Foundation and National Cinema Center of Armenia sealed an agreement to facilitate the launch of joint cinema projects.

The cooperation deal on cinema was signed by the Head of Farabi Cinematic Foundation Ali Reza Tabesh and Director of Armenia National Cinematic Center Shoushanic Mirzakhanian.

The document encompasses various fields of cultural cooperation such as joint production of films, performing educational programs, helping development of Armenia-Iran cinematic market and promoting interaction in holding festivals.
