National Anthem of Iran, a patriotic song

An anthem is a musical composition of celebration, usually used as a symbol for a distinct group, particularly the national anthems of countries. Originally, and in music theory and religious contexts, it also refers more particularly to short sacred choral work and still more particularly to a specific form of Anglican church music.

IMNA English Desk- The original version of the National Anthem of Iran is written in Persian language, the transliteration of which is "Sorood-e Melli-e Jomhoori-e Eslami-e Iran". Subsequent to the Islamic Revolution of 1949, the present National anthem of Iran was adopted in the year 1990 which replaced the anthem used during Ayatollah Khomeini's era.

Music of the current National anthem of Iran was composed by Hassan Riahi while the lyrics were written collectively. As an important national symbol of the country, the National anthem of Iran is sung on important occasions of national significance.

The effort and endurance towards becoming an Islamic Republic of Iran still seem to reverberate in the ears of the Iranian.
