500 fresh buses added to Isfahan bus fleet

This year, Isfahan bus fleet is being progressively provided with 500 new buses with an emission standard of Euro 4 & 5, mayor of Isfahan said reportedly.

As IMNA reporter quotes the mayor of Isfahan, Mehdi Jamalinejad, on the sidelines of the exploitation of BRT line 2: 800 buses have been purchased over the recent two years, 300 of which have entered the city of Isfahan. 500 more ones will be added to the fleet gradually.

The mayor added that the mentioned buses are of Euro 4 & 5 standards, bought at a cost of about $17.5 million.

He then pointed to the second line of the BRT, explaining: with a length of 4 km and 8 stations, the line extends from Qods Square to Jomhouri Square.  

Jamalinejad referred to the executive operations of the BRT at Imam Khomeini Sq. and continued: this line is the first controlled direction that is capable of lengthening to establish streetcar lines later on.

Elsewhere in his presentation, he one more time emphasized on the completion of many development projects and expressed hope to soon inaugurate them.

“Ashkavand interchange is also organized to be opened to the public over the coming week”, “Isteqlal megaproject will be inaugurated next week as well”, Isfahan mayor made the announcements.

He then detailed that the first metro line was completed with its third phase and has started to carry passengers since last week.

He finally stressed: all the proceedings obviously provide proof that our colleagues in the municipal urban management offices have all made twofold efforts to streamline the urban development process and complete indicative civil engineering projects.
