UN supports social activities of Iranian youth: Official

United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) representative in Iran said here on Sunday that youth are not ignorable in politics.

So, UNFPA supports social activities of the Iranian youth, Leila Saiji Joudane said.

She made the remarks addressing International Youth Day seminar here in Cultural Center of Sa'adabad.

UNFPA supports youth activities for a world without violence and underlined that to meet needs of youth integrated program is necessary.

Joudane said to fulfill UNESCO slogan of this year, which is peace and sustainable security, power of youth shouldn't be undermined.

She pointed out that now 25 percent of Iran's population is young under 30 years old and this is an appropriate opportunity for Iran to invest on its youth for social growth.

If countries invest for youth by clear grasp of social developments and demographic changes in education, technical and vocational training as well as job creation for the youth, in addition to economic growth it will cause peace and stability as well.
