President calls for boosting Iran-Belarus economic ties

President Hassan Rouhani on Sunday called for boosting cooperation between private sctors of Iran and Belarus, adding that the two countries have good capacities in various fields.

He made the remarks in a meeting with the Chairman of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus Mikhail Myasnikovich.

Iran and Belarus have good potentials for cooperation in industrial field, the official added.

President Rouhani urged acceleration of banking relations between the two states and underlined importance of the International North–South Transport Corridor.

He pointed to proximity of the two countries' stances on international issues, and said that this proximity can be a good ground for broadening of relations.

During the meeting, Myasnikovich conveyed the Belarus president's congratulatory message to the Iranian president, and urged the political commitment between the two states to become operational. 

'Iran and Belarus have good capacities to enhance cooperation in the fields of oil, industry, machinery, export and import,' he added.

Myasnikovich urged improvement of the two countries' banking relations.

Chairman of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus arrived in Iran yesterday to attend President Rouhani's inauguration ceremony.
