Japan won four gold medals standing first place in the international event followed by China, Russia and Iran.
Taiwan, Poland, Romania, Great Britain, Australia and Italy took the 5th place to 10th place.
Teams from 82 countries participated in the 29th section of the International Olympiad in Informatics.
The International Olympiad in Informatics is one of five international science Olympiads. Its primary goal is to stimulate interest in informatics (computing science) and information technology. In May 1989, UNESCO initiated and sponsored the first International Olympiad in Informatics.
