In accordance with IMNA News Agency reporting from the information center of the 30th ICFF, the director in the press conference of his film was asked if the tent towards American cinema fits children films or not. He replied: I was inspired by American cinema but I contemplated that Hollywood styles of filmmaking would tie me closer to realities.
Asked about his travel to Iran, he declared: “before travelling to Iran, I was interested in Iranian culture and history and had already read about it”, “We also have a few Iranian colleagues in Norway.”
Hamdel Nass: I was into Isfahan but I knew nothing about it, so I was fully excited to see what was waiting for me in this historical city.
“I am still trying to digest my presence in Iran, I have visited monuments and old bazaars of the city”, explained Nass and continued: I found the architecture of the city totally different and more beautiful than the western’s one.
He then added: “Here is extremely calm, the big market of the city is safe and nice”, “Streets were all covered by green trees wherever I stepped.”
He also said about Iranians: Iranian nation is really kind-hearted. They treat well with the shy Norwegian people and are more easygoing in communicating with one another.
Iranians are so much open-minded and hospitable, he mentioned, explaining: Iran’s culture impressed me in the way that I am studying about its culture and architecture per night.
Further in his speech, the director added: Isfahan has a long history underneath and has changed a lot over history, so it’s interesting to me to imagine the old Isfahan and compare that with the present.
