Sannette Naeyé also serves as the head of the jury of the international organization CIFEJ (International Center of Films for Children and Young People), and a Lifetime Achievement Award of CIFEJ, the World Children’s Film Foundation.
Previously she has worked for two Dutch television companies: IKON (head Film department) and VARA (Head Art and Cultural programming).
She has joined the 30th International Film Festival for Children and Youth as a jury member. In an interview with the young journalist, Mojtaba Jabaroutian, which was held in English, she said:
What’s your viewpoint about holding the festival in Isfahan?
I really love that, I am honored to be a guest here and member of the jury, and I think, after all, it is important for children to watch films and attend such festivals; it is a very good sense. I believe in such a festival you can see a good collection of film in one place.
How do like the idea of having teenage journalists covering the news of the current edition of the festival?
I believe it’s really important that young people think about the films, what they watch, think about their opinions and finally talk about it. I think being with adult is fine but the most important of course are you teenagers because we make the films really addressed to you, so for you it is important to watch and discuss and make up your mind to be part of this world, it’s bigger than Netherland, bigger than Iran.
Generally, how do you find the city of Isfahan as a historical and cultural city? Have you had a chance to visit the city?
Yesterday I had my first moment out of the festival; I saw Naghsh-e Jahan, and the night before I also saw the big bridges of Si-Se-Pol and Khaju. They were wonderful, especially Naghshe Jahan where I saw people coming to picnic, all the children were playing and running; everybody was enjoying themselves.
Did you know that that magnificent square is the second largest square in the world?
Yes! I actually have seen both the first and now the second largest squares in the world!
