Isfahan must receive credit for hosting the festival

Isfahani cinema and theater filmmaker, Omid Niaz, stated his opinion regarding the Children and Youth Film Festival: Isfahan must be given special credits in exchange for hosting the festival.

The young filmmaker expressed his joy with holding the festival in Isfahan once again, declaring: celebrating the festival in Isfahan is totally different from its stability in the city, he made the remarks addressing IMNA reporter.

"It has been witnessed that over the recent 8 years, the Children's Film Festivals have been held in the cities of Isfahan & Hamedan. The problem is that all managers and directors are changed each year, and consequently the whole festival and policies will be changed", he pointed out.

Omid Niaz mentioned all the difficulties of the festival, and made critical remarks: "The films that are shown during the festival and even receive international prizes, like my own movie last year titled "B12", are not allowed to be released after the festival!

"It seems that the festival is only a one-week fun for gathering and watching some movies all together, and then say goodbye to one another until the next year", he continued, and asked: so, where are the stream of policies? The current policy is very deficient.

He further complained that there are only five days yearly to draw all attentions to Children's and Youth's Film Festival. And then everything is over for a year. He addressed Iran's president: "Mr. President, I personally voted for you, please travel to Isfahan. Have you ever made efforts for such festivals? What an impressive step have you taken in this regard?"

"I made my film "B12" at my own personal budget, and it was praised by four international rewards", he continued and said: But it is now on standby to seek permission to be released. The money I expended on the movie will never come back.

"The festival is seemingly a festival", he defined and ended his talk with the following words: "What was the difference between the years in which was being held in Isfahan, and those years of not hosting a festival."
