Sports complex of the disabled in Isfahan among the world bests

Head of international committee of Paralympics officially visited Isfahan mayor and appreciated his efforts to improve sports infrastructures for veterans and the disabled. He then declared that Iran is reaching the standards in china, Korea, and Brazil.  

IMNA quotes from bureau of media relations for Isfahan municipality: president of International Paralympic Committee of Paralympics, Philip Craven, along with Iran’s Secretary General of Paralympics committee met with Isfahan mayor, Mehdi Jamali Nejad. Some authorizes from Isfahan committees of veterans and the disabled also attended the meeting.

Jamali Nejad reminded that Isfahan is holding four international titles, including: child-friendly city, elderly-friendly city, international recorded handicrafts, and world creative city. He then affirmed: Isfahan has signed sister-city contract with 19 cities and is granted membership of many international organizations.

 “Municipalities mostly focus on general sports; therefore, we attempt to provide various programs in this regard”, the mayor confirmed.

Further at his speech, Jamali Nejad announced that one of the great programs being performed in the city, is expanding outdoor sports fields in all districts. It can strongly boost sports facilities for veterans and the disabled.

Isfahan mayor then invited Philip Craven to the 4th round of champion for the disabled and veterans among Isfahan’s sister cities. The competitions will be held in the upcoming December.

Philip Craven defined that the disabled must be considered equally as the healthy members of the society. Doing sports will make them leave houses and act much more decisively for their futures.

Craven later expressed his good feeling of visiting Isfahan mayor and noted: What surprised me was that how much Isfahan mayor cares about his citizens in Isfahan and how sincerely he makes efforts to combine Isfahan’s ancient history with modern technology.  

He finally expressed hope that he will be able to participate in competitions of Isfahan’s sister cities in the coming December.
