More Than 400 Children’s Festival Programs to Be Held Across Isfahan Neighborhoods

More than 400 cultural and artistic programs will be held across neighborhoods and urban districts of Isfahan as part of the 38th International Film Festival for Children and Young Adults, with a focus on cultural equity and expanding access to festival activities, particularly in underserved areas.

Iran (IMNA) –Hamed Nazari, director of the festival’s District Events Committee, said the programs have been designed to bring the festival beyond its main venues and into different parts of the city, allowing children and families across Isfahan to take part in cultural and recreational activities.

“The District Events Committee will act as an ambassador and supporter of the festival across Isfahan,” Nazari said, adding that more than 400 programs are scheduled to take place throughout the city during the festival week.

Among the main initiatives is a mobile cinema program that will screen films from different editions of the children’s and young adults’ festival in schools and neighborhoods. Other activities include kite-flying events at several locations, including Mount Soffeh, street entertainment and children’s carnivals, as well as puppet theater and character performances in different parts of the city.

Special arrangements have also been made for children who cannot attend the festival in person. As part of the program, festival activities will be taken to the Children’s Medical Center of Imam Hossein Hospital, allowing children receiving treatment to participate in the festival atmosphere.

The wider program includes children’s cultural events at community cultural centers, theatrical and musical performances, art and cultural competitions, and neighborhood cinema screenings at cultural centers, mosques and other venues equipped to show films.

Children will also be able to participate in activities such as painting, storytelling, creative writing and short-film competitions. A “Cinema Square” program will feature selected short films in public spaces, while children’s booths at religious and community gatherings will also receive support.

According to Nazari, the festival’s neighborhood programs have been designed not only to create enjoyable experiences for children and young people, but also to strengthen social participation and a sense of national identity, while commemorating children and other victims of war and highlighting themes of solidarity and support for children affected by conflict.

The initiative reflects an effort to distribute cultural activities more evenly across Isfahan, particularly by bringing festival programs to neighborhoods that have fewer opportunities to access major cultural events.

Residents can obtain information about the time and location of individual programs through the municipality’s 137 public communications system or by contacting the cultural and social affairs offices of their local municipal district.
