Pezeshkian: Iran Will Not Be Forced Into Submission by US Pressure

President Masoud Pezeshkian says Iran will not be forced into submission by US pressure, questioning the rationale behind what he described as repeated American acts of aggression against civilian targets.

Iran (IMNA)  - In a post on X on Saturday, Pezeshkian challenged the United States over attacks targeting civilian infrastructure, food supplies and people's livelihoods, drawing a distinction between direct military confrontation and attacks on civilian facilities.

“If Americans are warriors, let them face our valiant military forces. Why wage war on civilian infrastructure, food supplies, and livelihoods?” he asked.

The Iranian president also questioned US restrictions affecting people's access to basic necessities, saying, “If they (the Americans)'re human, why deny people access to water, food, and medicine?”

Pezeshkian concluded by stressing that continued pressure would not force Iran to capitulate.

“Our people can't be bullied into submission. Iran won't surrender,” he said.

His remarks came in response to what Iranian authorities describe as unwarranted acts of direct US military aggression against Iran, including the wars waged by the United States alongside the Israeli regime against the Islamic Republic in June and earlier this year. According to Iranian authorities, those conflicts claimed the lives of thousands of people, including numerous civilians.

The president's comments also referred to Washington's decades-long campaign of economic pressure against Iran, which has affected access to essential commodities and supplies, including food, medicines and aircraft parts.

Iranian authorities have repeatedly described US sanctions as a form of economic coercion and have maintained that such measures have imposed additional pressure on ordinary people.

Despite prolonged military, economic and political pressure, Iranian officials have consistently emphasized the country's resilience and its determination to withstand what they describe as unwarranted pressure and refuse to surrender to external demands.
