Iran (IMNA) - Reverend Vartan Aghababaian, at the farewell ceremony for the Armenian martyr of the Ramadan War, Avans Simonian, emphasized the historical role of Armenians in Iran's history. He stated: "Armenians in Iran are an inseparable part of the Iranian nation and have stood shoulder-to-shoulder with other ethnic groups in this land throughout all historical periods."
Highlighting the deep historical ties between Armenians and Iran, he added: "Throughout history, the blood of Armenians has been mingled with the blood of other children of this land in defense of Iran. In contemporary times as well, Armenian martyrs, alongside other combatants in the Imposed War, sacrificed their lives to defend the homeland."
The Archbishop of Jolfa, Isfahan, continued: "This companionship and solidarity continue today. Whenever Iran has been in need, Armenians have been present with all their might alongside their countrymen, striving for the development and progress of Iran."
Aghababaian stated, "We stand so that Iran may remain and become more prosperous every day." He emphasized: "The common goal of all children of this land is for Iran to reach the peaks of progress and elevation."
He then touched upon the current conditions of the country, saying: "These days represent one of the most sensitive junctures of the past half-century, and we have been chosen as a nation to act in these times. We must choose our path with insight and precision."
The Archbishop of Jolfa, Isfahan, stressed: "God has illuminated the path, and we must not lose our way. Maintaining awareness at this critical juncture is essential, as the current circumstances are like a fire that separates the genuine from the false."
He concluded his remarks with a prayer for the glory and prosperity of Islamic Iran.
