The joint maritime exercise between the Islamic Republic of Iran's Army Navy and the Russian Federation Navy has officially concluded following a farewell ceremony for the Russian helicopter carrier “Stoiky.”

Iran (IMNA) – The drill, held in the Sea of Oman, was conducted to strengthen bilateral cooperation, enhance maritime security, and increase operational synergy. Participating units completed their final scheduled tasks before the closing ceremony, during which the Russian vessel “Stoiky” was escorted out of the exercise zone by Iranian surface units.

The exercise was also aimed at expanding maritime diplomacy, boosting military interactions, and facilitating the exchange of operational expertise. Officials from both countries reaffirmed their commitment to continuing joint cooperation in maritime safety and security.

Speaking to reporters on Thursday, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated that the joint drill had been planned long before the recent escalation of tensions between Tehran and Washington.
