According to the chief justice of Fars province, four individuals have been detained thus far on suspicion of taking part in the terrorist assault that occurred on Sunday at the Shah Cheragh shrine in the southern Iranian city of Shiraz.
Iran (IMNA) - On Monday morning, Kazem Mousavi said that four people connected to the terrorist attack had been detained as a result of the ongoing investigations.
He also said that the primary terrorist, who opened fire on worshippers within the shrine and was quickly apprehended, had been turned over to detectives for questioning and more research.
In an armed terrorist attack on Sunday evening at the Shah Cheragh shrine in Shiraz, southern Iran, at least one person was murdered and eight others were injured.
According to Mousavi, one of the victims of the assault was in serious condition last night.
Two terrorists were reportedly engaged in the shooting, one of whom was quickly apprehended while the other left the scene and is still at large, according to state media.
The terrorist organization Daesh has taken responsibility for the brutal attack.
Last year, armed terrorists carried out a similar attack on the Shah Cheragh shrine in Shiraz, killing 15 pilgrims—including women and children—and wounding hundreds more before being shot and wounded by security personnel.
