Saadatabad village is located 80 kilometers far from Isfahan in Jarghooyeh Sofla district. One of the farms of this village near Mohammadabad is called ‘Mazrae Ara’, where the locals have been earning income from agricultural practices over a long period of time.
Iran (IMNA) - During the past years, farmers have grown some products such as summer crops, watermelons, melons, cantaloupe, wheat, barley, oleaster, onions, cotton, sesame and even sunflowers while over the last ten years, due to drought and lack of water, the vast majority of arable land have been dried up and abandoned without any crops. Some crops such as wheat which is cultivated with great difficulty are being damaged before harvesting and farmer’s efforts remain futile.
Currently, there are limited small-scale agricultural land in this farm and small number of crops such as Alfalfal, pomegranate, apricot, and damask roses are cultivated. Hence, a group of farmers have started planting crops like pistachios and saffron as products that require less irrigation. Further, one of the major problems of this village is traditional methods of irrigation. Farmers and locals have frequently asked for plumbing, but so far no one was able to send in perfect solution, which is not strange.
