Iran (IMNA) - The Leader’s body, together with those of his companions, was transferred to the Grand Mosalla early Friday and placed in the main prayer hall ahead of a two-day public farewell ceremony.
According to the organizers, representatives of Islamic centers, civil society organizations, and antiwar and anti-hegemony movements from several European countries—including Italy, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, Denmark, and Austria—have traveled to Tehran to attend the ceremonies or provide media coverage.
The funeral program will continue on Saturday and Sunday with the Leader lying in state at the Grand Mosalla. A funeral procession through the streets of Tehran is scheduled for Monday, after which further commemorative ceremonies will be held in the holy city of Qom. The body will then be taken to Baghdad, Karbala, and Najaf in Iraq before being laid to rest in Mashhad on July 9.
