Iran Reviewing Draft Memorandum, No Response Submitted Yet

Iran is continuing its review and internal discussions over the draft text of a potential memorandum of understanding and has not yet submitted a response, an informed source close to the negotiating team told Mehr News Agency (MNA).

Iran (IMNA) - According to the source, the proposed text remains under examination in Tehran, with Iranian officials carefully assessing its contents amid longstanding concerns stemming from what they describe as a history of unfulfilled U.S. commitments and deep-rooted mistrust.

“Iran, based on previous experience, is seeking real and tangible benefits,” the source said. “America is worried about the war; we are worried about the agreement, because America has spent heavily on the war and has achieved nothing.”

The source emphasized that Iran’s position is based on the principles of reversibility and concrete, verifiable implementation measures.

“Iran has faced the other side’s bad faith before,” the source stated. “So our basis is reversibility and tangible executive measures.”

The source added that discussions on the final version of the text are still ongoing in Tehran and that no official response has yet been sent.
