The Minister of Cultural Heritage and Tourism announced that the issue of damage to the country's historical monuments has been communicated to all relevant international authorities, including the UN, UNESCO, ISESCO, and other legal and global bodies, and that UNESCO has committed to dispatching a mission to Tehran as soon as flights resume.

Iran (IMNA) - Seyyed Reza Salehi-Amiri discussed the damage inflicted upon the nation's historical monuments due to the "savage attacks of the American-Zionist enemy." He stated: "The total destruction we have faced encompasses approximately 149 historical monuments. After Tehran, the highest level of damage has been sustained by Isfahan Province."

He added: "We have reflected this issue of damages to all relevant international authorities, including the UN, UNESCO, ISESCO, and other legal and global bodies. UNESCO has also committed to dispatching a mission to Tehran at the earliest opportunity once flights resume."

The Minister of Cultural Heritage emphasized: "We will invite UNESCO representatives to be present in Isfahan in person and assess the damages incurred."

Salehi-Amiri stressed that Iran's current priority is the condemnation of this action in international forums, stating: "What matters to us now is, firstly, the condemnation of this crime by international bodies, particularly UNESCO, and, secondly, the pursuit of compensation for the damages."

He continued: "A file has currently been established with UNESCO, and all documentation, including images, videos, and reports related to the damages, has been submitted to this body. We hope that UNESCO and its affiliated legal authorities will review the matter and communicate the outcome to the Islamic Republic of Iran."
