Iranian Healthcare System Devastated by 210 Attacks in US-Israeli Aggression

In a grim tally of the ongoing conflict, Iran’s Deputy Health Minister Shahin Akhoundzadeh announced that 210 healthcare centers across the nation have been damaged due to attacks attributed to the "American-Zionist enemy." The strikes have impacted a range of facilities, from rural clinics to private hospitals, according to Akhoundzadeh.

Iran (IMNA) – Speaking on the nature of the attacks, Akhoundzadeh highlighted that, unusually for wartime, the US-Israeli coalition has deliberately targeted civilian infrastructure, including medical facilities, educational institutions, and schools. He cited the bombing of an elementary school in Minab as a particularly egregious example, which resulted in the tragic loss of approximately 170 students, an event he described as "rare in the history of wars."

The Deputy Minister confirmed that over 210 health and medical centers have been hit nationwide, with a substantial number being rural health centers serving smaller communities.

The attacks have also crippled essential medical services, with six hospitals rendered inoperable. Among these is the Persian Gulf Martyrs Hospital in Bushehr, a key medical facility for the province.

Furthermore, the assaults have claimed the lives of numerous healthcare professionals, including physicians, pharmacists, nurses, emergency technicians, and relief workers. Even ambulance services have not been spared, with reports of targeted destruction of vehicles, including a maritime ambulance en route from Hormuz to Bandar Abbas while transporting patients.
