Iran (IMNA) _ Speaker Ghalibaf delivered the remarks in a message addressed to Islamic countries in the region, which was broadcast by Qatar’s Al Jazeera network.
The official noted that the message was written during the fifth week of the US-Israeli aggression against Iran, a conflict that Iran did not choose or initiate, but which he said has become a symbol of resistance for those seeking freedom, independence, and opposition to domination.
Ghalibaf said that the war was launched by the United States and the Israeli regime not only against Iran but also against regional security and the idea of unity among Islamic nations.
At this moment, it is necessary to discuss this Israeli‑US plot, the future of the region, and the Islamic unity, he said, reiterating that Iran has always extended a hand of friendship to neighboring countries and Muslim nations.
He cited the Beijing agreement between Iran and Saudi Arabia as a clear example of this policy, noting that the rapprochement was advanced by Iranian presidents, including late Ebrahim Raisi and Masoud Pezeshkian.
Ghalibaf underlined that relations among Islamic countries should be built on the principles of brotherhood, unity, and independence from major powers, noting that sustainable security requires self‑reliance and strategic independence.
These comments come amid the current conflict, which began on February 28, 2026, following the joint US-Israeli military aggression against Iran. Then, Iran launched retaliatory missile and drone strikes against Israeli and US positions in the region.
