Iran Rejects US Proposal, Sets 5 Conditions for Ending War

Iran has rejected a recent US proposal to end the ongoing war, stating it will only conclude on Iran’s terms and timeline.

Iran (IMNA) – A senior official told Press TV that Iran views the proposal as "excessive" and disconnected from the reality of US failures.

Iran has outlined five conditions for ending the war:

1.  A complete halt to enemy aggression and assassinations.
2.  Establishment of mechanisms to prevent the war's reimposition.
3.  Guaranteed payment of war damages and reparations.
4.  Conclusion of the war across all fronts and for all resistance groups.
5.  Recognition of Iran's sovereignty over the Strait of Hormuz.

These conditions are in addition to previous demands presented during negotiations in Geneva. Iran has communicated that a ceasefire is contingent upon acceptance of all conditions, and defensive operations will continue until then. The war began on February 28 following the assassination of Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei and other officials, prompting nearly 80 retaliatory strikes by Iranian forces.
