Iran (IMNA) - Addressing the United Nations Conference on Disarmament, Reza Dehghani condemned the military actions against Iran’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. He asserted that while Iran harbors no hostility towards its neighbors, those nations enabling attacks against Iran will be held accountable.
Dehghani highlighted the continued targeting of civilians and civilian infrastructure, resulting in casualties among women and children. He stressed that aggression should not be normalized and no nation can supersede international law.
Iran, he affirmed, fully exercises its right to self-defense under Article 51 of the UN Charter, limiting its actions to aggressor targets within the region. Furthermore, citing General Assembly Resolution 3314 and international law, Iran reserves the right to target the origins of attacks launched from neighboring countries.
Dehghani concluded by urging responsible condemnation of the aggression by nations and the UN Security Council, reiterating Iran’s commitment to defending itself until security is restored.
