Strait of Hormuz Remains Open Despite Increased Security

Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed that maritime traffic continues through the Strait of Hormuz, despite new security measures implemented due to the ongoing regional conflict.

Iran (IMNA) - The Strait has not been closed, and shipping continues with necessary precautions. Iran reaffirmed its commitment to freedom of navigation and maritime safety, while respecting coastal state sovereignty. The ministry cited increased danger in the Persian Gulf and Strait of Hormuz following US and Israeli aggression beginning February 28, impacting maritime security.

Iran has taken steps to prevent aggressors from using the waterway against it, barring vessels linked to those involved in the attacks. Ships from other countries can pass safely, provided they don't participate in military operations against Iran and comply with regulations. The ministry attributes any instability to the US and Israel.
