Iran (IMNA) – Speaking during a meeting with visiting Armenian Defense Minister Suren Papikyan in Tehran on Tuesday, Nasirzadeh expressed hope that the amicable ties between the two countries would continue to expand across all sectors, particularly in the field of defense.
The two sides exchanged views on bilateral cooperation in various defense areas, emphasizing the growing pace of relations between Tehran and Yerevan. Iran’s defense minister underscored the importance of consultations on border, security, and geopolitical issues, reiterating that ties with the Republic of Armenia have consistently been based on peace and friendship.
For his part, Papikyan said Armenia attaches great importance to its relations with Iran in all areas, especially in the defense arena. He noted that the meeting reflects the two countries’ determination to strengthen defense and military cooperation and to help ensure regional peace and security.
Papikyan arrived in Tehran late Monday on an official visit to hold talks with his Iranian counterpart on bilateral ties and issues of mutual interest.
