Iran (IMNA) - In a statement issued on Sunday, members of the Iranian Parliament stressed that the continuation of what they described as a hostile and irresponsible Western approach will not weaken the firm resolve of the Iranian nation. They said European states, in an effort to cover up their shortcomings, have adopted a policy of interference in the internal affairs of other countries and passed an anti-Iran resolution based on double standards.
The lawmakers added that solid documents and undeniable evidence indicate that intelligence services of certain foreign countries have maintained direct and organized links with ringleaders of terrorist groups, who were involved in orchestrating the killing and massacre of innocent people on January 8.
According to the statement, the European Parliament’s interventionist resolution comes at a time when the same parliament and European governments have maintained what lawmakers described as a shameful and meaningful silence toward the Zionist regime’s unprecedented crimes, including widespread displacement, organized genocide, and the killing of more than 80,000 defenseless people in Gaza. They said such silence has effectively amounted to standing by a terrorist regime.
The statement further noted that despite this record, the same countries have now adopted a resolution with clear double standards, unjustly accusing the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), which, lawmakers emphasized, has played the most prominent role in combating terrorism in the region.
