Iran (IMNA) – The remarks were made on Tuesday during a meeting with officials of the Congress of the Alborz Province’s 5,580 Martyrs.
Referring to the sacrifices of Iranian youth during the Sacred Defense against the Ba’athist regime of Saddam Hussein from 1980 to 1988, the Leader praised today’s youth in Iran for their piety and for safeguarding Islamic values.
Ayatollah Khamenei underscored the importance of conveying the experiences of the youth of the Sacred Defense era to the current generation, stressing the need for cultural and artistic efforts to transfer those experiences and values to young people who were born in the early years of the Islamic Revolution.
“Despite all the hardships, difficulties, and problems, there are many strengths and many preparations for moving in line with Islam and the revolution in the country that must be reinforced,” he said.
