Iran (IMNA) – Mojtaba Ghahramani, Head of the Judiciary in Hormozgan Province, said the tanker was intercepted in Iranian territorial waters near the port city of Jask. He noted that the operation specifically targeted organized fuel smuggling networks and those involved in their activities.
According to Ghahramani, the vessel was operating without valid maritime travel documents and lacked an official cargo manifest for the fuel it was carrying. He added that all navigation and auxiliary systems on board the tanker had been deliberately switched off.
The tanker was crewed by 18 individuals, all of whom are nationals of India, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh, the Judiciary official said.
