Araghchi, Aliyev Call for Broader Tehran–Baku Cooperation

Iran’s Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araghchi and Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev underscored the need to expand bilateral relations and cooperation across diverse sectors during a meeting in Baku on Monday.

Iran (IMNA) - Araghchi, who traveled to the Azerbaijani capital for consultations with senior officials, met President Aliyev on Monday morning to review the trajectory of political engagement, neighborhood-related matters, and mechanisms for managing ties between the two countries.

The Iranian foreign minister conveyed President Masoud Pezeshkian’s warm greetings to his Azerbaijani counterpart and highlighted the deep historical and cultural links connecting the nations. He reiterated Iran’s determination to strengthen and broaden cooperation with Azerbaijan in all mutually beneficial fields, emphasizing the importance of long-term vision and steady diplomatic dialogue in resolving misunderstandings and managing ongoing issues.

Araghchi also presented Iran’s views on key regional developments.President Aliyev extended his greetings to President Pezeshkian and described the Iranian president’s recent visit to Baku as a “historic” event that enhanced mutual understanding and advanced bilateral relations. He voiced satisfaction with the positive direction of Tehran–Baku ties and affirmed Azerbaijan’s readiness to utilize all available capacities to deepen cooperation.
