Iran and Russia Finalize 20 MoUs, 5 Contracts to Boost ICT Cooperation

Iran and the Russian Federation have finalized 20 memoranda of understanding (MoUs) along with 5 contracts in the fields of communications and information technology (ICT), marking a significant step forward in bilateral technological collaboration.

Iran (IMNA) - During the 5th meeting of the joint working group between the two countries, 20 MoUs and 5 contracts were concluded, opening a new chapter in the development of their technological relations.

The signing ceremony was attended by Iran’s deputy minister of Information and Communications Technology (ICT), representatives of the private sector, and Iran’s envoy to Moscow.

Meysam Abedi, Iran’s Deputy Minister of ICT for Innovation and Technology Affairs, highlighted that cooperation has expanded in recent years across areas such as data transit, smart government, and postal infrastructures. He added that the Iranian private sector has entered into specific contracts with Russia on cybersecurity, artificial intelligence (AI), infrastructure equipment production, and joint projects.

In total, 20 MoUs and 5 contracts were signed, and the scope of cooperation is expected to grow further in the coming years.

Iran’s Envoy to Moscow, Kazem Jalali, stated that the 5th meeting of the joint working group yielded positive outcomes in the ICT field.

The 5th edition of the Iran-Russia Joint Working Cooperation Group concluded on Friday with the signing and sealing of an intergovernmental memorandum of understanding.
