IRGC Navy Seizes Marshall Islands-Flagged Tanker “Talara” off Makran Coast Following Judicial Order

Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) Navy has seized a foreign tanker named Talara off the southern coast of Makran, following a judicial order issued to protect national interests and resources.

Iran (IMNA) - According to the IRGC Navy’s Public Relations Office, rapid reaction units monitored the movements of the tanker at 7:30 a.m. yesterday after receiving the judicial directive mandating its seizure. The vessel, operating under the commercial name Talara and flying the flag of the Marshall Islands, was subsequently intercepted by IRGC naval forces.

The tanker was reportedly transporting 30,000 tons of petrochemical products and was en route to Singapore before being seized in the southern waters of the Makran coast.

The IRGC Navy emphasized that the operation was conducted in line with the force’s legal responsibilities and its mission to safeguard the national interests and resources of Iran. The statement added that accurate and complete reporting requires a thorough review of the cargo, inspection of the vessel, and verification of its documentation — procedures currently underway by IRGC personnel.
