Tehran-Riyadh Ties: A Catalyst for Regional and Global Stability

Kazem Gharibabadi, Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister for Legal and International Affairs, stated that strong relations between Iran and Saudi Arabia will have positive regional and international consequences.

Iran (IMNA) - Gharibabadi made the remarks on his X account during his visit to Saudi Arabia on Wednesday. The Deputy Foreign Minister explained that his trip aimed to"develop and strengthen relations, coordination, and cooperation" between the two governments, specifically in areas related to:

  • International, regional, and multilateral organizations.

  • Important international issues, human rights, and legal and judicial cooperation.

During the visit, he held discussions with Abdul Rahman bin Ibrahim Al-Rassi, the Saudi Deputy Minister of General Diplomacy Affairs.

Gharibabadi emphasized that Iran and Saudi Arabia, which share many commonalities, can pursue common interests, regional peace, and stability in the complex international arena. This can be achieved through mutual respect, dialogue in good faith, and adherence to the requirements of good neighborliness, while continuing to develop their cooperation.

He also reported that both sides stressed"the need to strengthen the role and effectiveness of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC)" on various issues. This specifically included condemning the crimes of the occupying regime in Gaza and its aggressions in the region, and expanding cooperation among OIC members on related matters.
