International Jury Member: Iran Can Inspire Global Cinematic Works

A member of the international jury at the 37th International Film Festival for Children and Youth has praised the event for its cultural richness and creative potential, stating that Iran’s diverse heritage and traditions have the power to inspire filmmakers worldwide.

Iran (IMNA) – Speaking to IMNA News Agency, Hamid Al-Ameri, a juror in the festival’s international section, emphasized the pivotal role of government support in advancing cultural and artistic productions tailored to younger audiences. “Iran has shown significant commitment to organizing festivals and initiatives dedicated to children’s cinema. These efforts are crucial for nurturing the next generation through storytelling and the arts,” he said.

Al-Ameri described the 37th edition of the festival as one of the most important cultural events on the global stage, not only as a platform for showcasing quality films from Iran and abroad, but also as a space for meaningful cultural exchange. “This festival fosters friendship between nations and strengthens Iranian-Islamic identity among young people,” he noted.

Reflecting on previous festival entries, Al-Ameri highlighted the increasing presence of films with a humanistic and artistic lens on Iranian society. “These works not only depict the beauty of life in Iran but also play a significant role in conveying ethical, social, and cultural values,” he added.

He further pointed out the unique focus of this year's festival on Iran’s cultural and geographical heritage. “Films that explore the country’s nature, history, and Islamic traditions reveal how Iran’s rich cultural landscape can serve as a source of inspiration for numerous international cinematic projects,” Al-Ameri said.

Underscoring the broader mission of the festival, he concluded: “The primary aim of events like this is to promote a human-centered perspective, ignite creativity and hope in children and adolescents, and offer an authentic, inspiring image of Iran to the world.”
