Iran (IMNA) - In a response on Sunday, Iran condemned the accusations as a deliberate attempt to divert public attention from more pressing regional issues. The ministry called the G7’s claims a misrepresentation of the truth, particularly criticizing the targeting of individuals responsible for safeguarding Iran’s national security.
The statement described the political and economic forum’s accusations as a disingenuous effort by the same countries whose "unlawful and destabilizing actions," especially across West Asia, have contributed to insecurity and lawlessness. It called on the United States and G7 nations to take responsibility for their negative role in regional and global stability, citing their backing of Israel’s violations of international and humanitarian law in Palestine and support for terrorist organizations.
Highlighting the ongoing violence in the Palestinian territories, Iran’s Foreign Ministry accused Israel and its Western supporters of committing “massacres and genocide,” stating that the G7’s anti-Iran statements are designed to deflect from what it described as “the crime of the century.” The ministry urged the statement’s sponsors to abandon colonial and supremacist mindsets and revise their flawed policies toward Iran and the region instead of engaging in blame-shifting.
The Iranian ministry’s strong denunciation reflects escalating tensions between Tehran and Western powers amidst broader geopolitical conflicts in West Asia.
