Pezeshkian’s Visit to China Highlights Active Diplomacy for Iran

Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister for Legal and International Affairs, Kazem Gharibabadi, described President Massoud Pezeshkian’s presence at the 25th Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Heads of State Summit in China as a demonstration of active diplomacy for the Islamic Republic.

Iran (IMNA) - During his historic visit, Pezeshkian attended the SCO summit as well as the SCO Plus meeting and participated in a major military parade commemorating the 80th anniversary of the end of World War Two. Speaking at both the SCO and SCO Plus gatherings, the Iranian president put forward initiatives aimed at enhancing the organization’s activity and effectiveness.

In addition to his multilateral engagements, Pezeshkian held bilateral talks with the presidents of China, Russia, Turkey, Tajikistan, the Prime Minister of Pakistan, and the Secretary-General of the United Nations. These meetings served to review and strengthen Iran’s relations with these countries and the UN, resulting in decisions promoting the development of international cooperation, according to Gharibabadi.
