Iran’s Non-Oil Exports Total $16.55 Billion in First Four Months of Iranian Year

Iran’s non-oil exports reached $16.55 billion during the first four months of the current Iranian year, according to data released by the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA).

Iran (IMNA) - From March 20 to July 22, the country exported 48.81 million tons of non-oil goods, reflecting a 1.46 percent increase in volume compared to the same period last year. However, the export value declined by 5.51 percent year-on-year.

Petrochemical products continued to be Iran’s largest export sector, with 17.4 million tons shipped abroad valued at $6.89 billion. This category experienced an 8.30 percent decrease in volume and a 10.22 percent drop in value. The leading non-oil export items included natural gas, liquefied propane, methanol, liquefied butane, and petroleum bitumen.

The main export destinations for Iranian goods were China, Iraq, the United Arab Emirates, Turkey, Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Oman.

Overall, Iran’s non-oil trade volume amounted to 61.02 million tons with a total value of $34.17 billion during the four-month period. Imports accounted for 12.21 million tons worth $17.63 billion, representing a 3.23 percent decrease in volume and a 14.20 percent decline in value compared to the previous year.

Key imports included raw gold, corn for animal feed, rice, sunflower seed oil, and soybeans. The top sources for imports were the UAE, China, Turkey, India, Germany, Russia, and the Netherlands.
