Iran Appreciates Oman's Constructive Role in Indirect Iran-US Nuclear Talks; Bilateral Cooperation Strengthened with 18 Agreements

President Masoud Pezeshkian expressed Iran’s gratitude to Oman for its active and constructive role in facilitating the indirect Iran-US negotiations on the nuclear issue and the lifting of oppressive sanctions. He made these remarks during a meeting with Sultan Haitham bin Tariq Al Said of Oman in Muscat on Tuesday.

Iran (IMNA) - Highlighting the shared potential between Iran and Oman, President Pezeshkian emphasized that both countries can leverage their capacities for mutual welfare and regional progress. He stated, “We appreciate the active and constructive role of the Sultanate of Oman in the indirect negotiations process, and we hope that this process will lead to good results.”

Sultan Haitham bin Tariq Al Said underscored the importance of enhancing Iran-Oman port relations and noted the significance of Iran’s north-south rail capacity for Oman. Regarding the indirect Iran-US talks, he remarked, “Muscat considers Iran’s success a success for the region.” He also expressed appreciation for the Iranian Leader’s trust in Oman’s mediating role, assuring that the conveyed positions would be “carefully and respectfully considered and followed up on by us.”

In the presence of President Pezeshkian and Sultan Haitham bin Tariq Al Said, officials from both countries signed 18 documents aimed at institutionalizing bilateral cooperation. According to the official Iranian Presidency website, President.ir, these agreements cover a broad range of fields including legal, economic, political, cultural, educational, health, defense, media, technology, energy, and mining sectors, marking a significant step in expanding Iran-Oman ties.
