Iran Condemns Hostage Crisis Following Train Attack in Pakistan

Iran’s Foreign Ministry Spokesperson, Esmaeil Baghaei, has issued a strong condemnation of the recent hostage-taking incident involving the Jaffar Express passenger train in Pakistan.

Iran (IMNA) - Baghaei emphasized the necessity for global cooperation to combat terrorism, expressing deep concern over the security threat posed to innocent civilians and denouncing the terrorist act that endangered lives.

Reaffirming Iran’s principled stance against all forms of terrorism and violent extremism, he extended solidarity to the government and people of Pakistan. Baghaei also reiterated Iran’s readiness to provide any necessary assistance to help resolve the ongoing crisis.

The attack occurred on Tuesday when separatist militants targeted the Jaffar Express, which was carrying approximately 500 passengers in southwestern Pakistan’s Balochistan province. Reports indicate that 16 militants were killed during security operations, and 104 passengers were successfully rescued amid the chaos.
