Iran (IMNA) - During the meeting, Pezeshkian described the relations between Iran and Russia as growing and emphasized the need to accelerate the implementation of agreements, particularly the recently signed Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Agreement.
Pezeshkian noted that both countries have the potential to strengthen cooperation and expressed Tehran's determination to enhance interactions with Moscow. He highlighted the importance of continuing constructive regional interactions between the two nations, pointing out that they share similar views on regional issues. This cooperation is being pursued within the framework of regional and international organizations such as the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, the Eurasian Economic Union, and BRICS.
Sergey Lavrov conveyed warm greetings from Russian President Vladimir Putin and expressed agreement with Pezeshkian's sentiments. He pledged that Russia would make every effort to continue and accelerate the growing cooperation and implement the agreements reached, especially the Comprehensive Strategic Agreement. Lavrov also noted that Iran's accession to the Eurasian Economic Union would significantly boost relations, particularly in economic and trade areas, highlighting the many shared interests in regional cooperation.
