Iran (IMNA) - Ayatollah Khamenei noted, "Today, the world realized that the Palestinian people’s patience and the Palestinian resistance’s resilience have forced the Zionist regime to back down." He further emphasized, "It will be written in books that one day, a Zionist group massacred thousands of women and children in the most horrific way and at the end, they were quashed."
The ceasefire agreement, facilitated by Qatar and Egypt, is set to commence on Sunday and will unfold over three phases. The deal includes a substantial prisoner exchange, with plans to release 1,000 Palestinian prisoners. The initial phase involves the release of 33 Israeli captives in exchange for a larger number of Palestinian detainees. Additionally, there will be a gradual withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza.
Israel's military campaign in Gaza began on October 7, 2023, following a major operation by Hamas-led resistance groups. Since then, the conflict has resulted in the deaths of at least 46,707 Palestinians and injuries to nearly 110,265 others, predominantly women and children.
Despite the optimism surrounding the ceasefire, challenges remain, including political discord within Israel's government and concerns over the implementation of the agreement.
