Iran Denies Plot to Assassinate Trump, Calls Allegations "Iranophobia"

Iran's President Masoud Pezeshkian has categorically denied any involvement in a plot to assassinate Donald Trump during the U.S. election campaign, stating that such allegations are part of a broader scheme to promote "Iranophobia."

Iran (IMNA) - In an exclusive interview with NBC News, Pezeshkian emphasized that Iran has never attempted to assassinate anyone and has no plans to do so in the future.

Pezeshkian made these remarks in response to U.S. claims of an alleged plot, which he attributed to Israel and other countries seeking to complicate relations between the U.S. and Iran. The interview, conducted with a government interpreter present, marks Pezeshkian's first engagement with foreign media since the U.S. presidential election.

The U.S. Department of Justice had previously charged an Iranian man in connection with an alleged murder-for-hire plot to assassinate Trump, among others. However, Iranian officials have consistently denied these allegations, labeling them as unfounded and politically motivated.
