Iran, China Strengthen Strategic Partnership Amid Regional Challenges

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi met with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi in Beijing on Saturday, where they reaffirmed their commitment to the comprehensive strategic partnership between their nations.

Iran (IMNA) - The discussions highlighted the progress made in their collaboration and addressed recent regional developments.

In a post on X following the talks, Araghchi emphasized that "the Iran-China strategic partnership is ironclad because it's underpinned by cultural & civilizational bonds and rooted in shared values & interests." He noted the increasing conflicts and terrorism in the region, asserting that both countries are more determined than ever to uphold the rule of law and maintain stability.

Araghchi further stated, "As our joint statement today in Beijing aptly underscores: The Middle East belongs to the people of Middle East…its future and destiny should be determined by its own people." This sentiment reflects a broader commitment to regional autonomy amidst external pressures.

China remains Iran’s largest trade partner, and both nations face various illegal sanctions imposed by the United States. Their long-term strategic partnership, formalized through a significant agreement, aims to bolster economic and political ties, enhancing cooperation across multiple sectors.
